Little Bites: Tastes from Isolation
Little Bites: Tastes from Isolation Collaborative Cookbook is living, breathing and growing. Here’s a teaser cover for this free virtual cookbook featuring food-people and restaurants from throughout Wellington County, Ontario. We’ll roll out submitted recipe pages two at a time throughout May through into June. These downloadable *pairings* will continue until the book is complete and housed online for you to access as a whole towards the beginning of June 2020.
We can’t wait for you to see the beauty on the pages — from the gorgeous recipes of our many talented chefs and beverage makers in this region, to the beautiful illustrations courtesy Jenna Kessler.
We’re all missing our restaurants where we gathered to break bread, toast each other, and celebrate our regional cuisine. Perhaps these pairings — and eventually the completed book — will satisfy us in the meantime. We’ll honour our food people by attempting to recreate their recipes while we #stayhome. They’ll still be feeding us in this way.
Please share this labour of love widely as you see the recipes posted over the coming weeks, and help keep our hospitality industry alive.
Here’s a page view for you to navigate as the recipes are uploaded.

[…] After stuffing my face with a rather delicious sandwich, I got to work on my newest-to-me recipe: Miijidaa’s Easter Tourtière. For those keeping track, this is the second recipe I have decided to try out in Taste Detours’ Little Bites Tastes from Isolation cookbook. […]
Dan,
You’re a genius. Great adaptations for your dietary needs, plus your version of Tourtière looks fantastic! Thanks for writing this post, and supporting local people, places and things as much as you do.
