Looking for fun things to do with your friends or family bonding to celebrate a milestone? We can help you with that. Our private and customized events allow us to host a variety of groups for experiences beyond our set, scheduled tours. People really love Taste Detours ability to introduce our region’s taste of place and to show off our community to visiting family and friends.

We want to share our love of the Wellington County region and make connections between our agricultural roots and our food & beverage makers today. All of our experiences harness the power of storytelling. We aim to celebrate our regional heritage with you by telling those stories via local flavour, offering you the opportunity to learn some little-known lore of the area, and to hear directly from local food and drink purveyors themselves while sampling their offerings.

Facilitating connections is our schtick! Connections between our innovative food & beverage crafters and growers, and connections between each other. 

Slow down and enjoy with us, and eat, drink and be merry — just like a local.

Considerations before making a tour your own

Are you looking for a different day, time or type of Taste Detours? We can create something unique for your group. 

If you’d prefer a tour that emphasizes the history, architecture, and culture part of the walking tour with a little less food, prices would drop somewhat.

Once a date is agreed upon for your custom tour, a deposit must be purchased to secure reservations. The remaining tickets must be purchased one week prior to the event.

1. Private groups must have a minimum of 6 guests for the usual tour at the usual times and prices that we provide, but it will be conducted in the privacy of your own group. For groups smaller than 6, there is a $200 surcharge plus the tour price per person.

2. Please allow 2 weeks’ lead time for private bookings to avoid disappointment.

3. We will try to accommodate food allergies to the best of our ability given advanced notice. 

4. In fairness to our businesses, there can be no refunds or exchanges for no-shows.

Once a date is agreed upon for your private tour, a non-refundable deposit must be purchased to hold that reservation. The remainder of the tickets must be purchased well in advance (no less than one week) of the requested date to ensure a private tour. Please call or write to Lynn to discuss details.

*We discourage single-use plastic water bottles on our tours. We hope you’ll consider bringing your own refillable bottle but rest assured that there will be many opportunities to quench your thirst on every tour.
