“Delicious, and informative…a very unique and wonderful way to experience local cuisine, glimpse more deeply the rich history of the area. Worth it!”

~Trip Advisor review
Taste Detours are food and drink tours with a heritage twist. On these flavourful tours we introduce you to our local, independent food people and places. In between these tasting stops we spotlight history, architecture, and culture — step bite step.
We are telling the stories of the people and the places that give Wellington County its flavour, through the cuisine that gives this slice of Southwestern Ontario its magic.

To the Core Food Tour

You’ll be asked to confirm that you’ve read this waiver before your tour.

We’re lunching with a food and drink tour that gets right to the heart of things in downtown Guelph and learning the very notion of how this place began. Sample an Atmospheric specialty, and grab a taste of Chile; eat sweet treats on a sweet street, maybe get a little cheesy, refresh yourself with cold-pressed juice, melt into a pastry that is oh so French, and taste historic Canadian flavours.

You’ll enjoy our regional cuisine and learn about the people behind the restaurants, pubs, and specialty food shops. Along the way, your guide will share some little-known history of the area and point out cultural landmarks. See what Guelph used to be and consider where we’re going next. You can relax with the knowledge that we’ve taken care of the tab, tips, and taxes for our vendors and their staff.

*Please note, due to COVID recovery, some stops may alter but you will be visiting at least 6 of our downtown Guelph food and drink champions on this tour.

This is NOT a gluten/wheat-free tour. Vegetarians can be accommodated. But hey, take us up on creating a special vegan tour for your group of 6+!
